Anna Miller, St Katharine's Churchwarden

I was born in Greenwich the youngest of three and lived in Blackheath until I married my husband Andrew and moved to Orpington in 1977. I attended Notre Dame School in Southwark and went on to study my HND in Business Studies at the University of Westminster. In 1983 we moved to Knockholt with our two young children with the hope of raising our family in a rural village community and have enjoyed an active village life ever since.

While our children were young I was Chairman of Rainbow Playgroup and worked at Halstead Playgroup before working with Andrew as bookkeeper at Linay and Shipp. With three grown up children I enjoyed spending my free time as Chairman of Knockholt Wives' Fellowship and making and designing costumes for KATS and KYTens productions… and of course their award-winning Knockholt Carnival entries!

Now as a busy granny I love nothing better than spending quality time with family and friends, walking over the fields of the North Downs, pottering in the garden and trips to the theatre to get inspiration for the next panto costumes or Carnival parade.

St Katharine's Church has played an important role in our family life from the Christening of our youngest daughter in 1984, the wedding of our eldest daughter and recent Christening of our first grandson Benjamin. We have always been involved in church life from cleaning, crèche and coffee rotas to Holiday Club and grass cutting but I now look forward to playing a more formal role as Churchwarden.
